Change of Address Phone number
The Preschool is to be notified Immediately of any change of address or phone, for work or home of either or both parents so that you can always be reached in the case of an emergency.
Settling in
This can sometimes be a stressful time for parents and children separating for the first time in unfamiliar surroundings.
- On the first day please stay for a little while, as this will help your child to settle.
- It is a good idea to remember to say goodbye to your child and to re assure them that you will be back in the afternoon to pick them up.
- If you feel at all anxious, feel free to phone to see how your child has settled and if necessary, you can plan to return to Preschool earlier.
Clothing
Children should be dressed in comfortable play clothes, which the child can play freely in and remove independently when going to the toilet. Paint stains will occur! They usually come out if soaked in cold water overnight, don't use hot water.
Sun safety
Children are asked to wear hats whenever outside. The Preschool will supply SPF 50+ broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen to apply on children's exposed skin. Parents are required to apply sunscreen before children arrive at Pre school. Sunscreen will be applied by staff in the mornings and at least 20 minutes before going outside to play after lunch.
Food that you pack for your child
Preschool educators aim to encourage the children to appreciate the benefits of a healthy diet.
Please send: a piece of fruit (fresh or dried), vegetable e.g. carrot or celery for morning tea and keep pre-packaged and processed food to a minimum. A nutritious lunch e.g. Sandwiches, salad, quiche etc and a piece of fruit, cheese, dry biscuits, yoghurt etc.
We request that you do not send chocolates, lollies, roll-ups, soft drinks, cordial or juice poppers, children will be asked to return these items to their bags until after Preschool.
Nut Free Zone
Preschool is a nut free zone. We ask that parents do not send any nuts or products containing nuts to Preschool. Please also keep this in mind for birthday cakes etc.
Immunisation
Parents are required to provide proof that their child is vaccinated. Therefore your child cannot commence enrolment at the service until an up to date "Immunisation History Statement" from Medicare is provided.
